Safeguarding
The Parish of St. Paul’s, New Southgate is committed to the safeguarding, care and nurture of the children and adults within our church community, and also to encouraging an environment where all people and especially those who may be vulnerable are able to worship and pursue their faith journey with encouragement and in safety.
If you have any safeguarding issues or concerns, our church’s Safeguarding Officer is Shola Soyoye. If you have any concerns you can contact her ([email protected]) or the Vicar.
Alternatively, you may wish to contact the Diocesean Safeguarding Advisor ([email protected] / 020 7932 122).
We are committed to the implementation of the Diocese of London Safeguarding Policy, and the relevant statutory legislation and guidance for the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. This includes DBS checks for all those working with children.
Each year the PCC considers and adopts a policy statement reflecting the Diocese of London Safeguarding Policy, and displays a copy in church. The 2024/25 agreed statement can be viewed here.
The Church Safeguarding Officer works with the Vicar and PCC to implement this policy and its procedures, and a different individual as our Children’s Champion – Wendy Pope.
